This MRFF grant supports consumer-led research to improve outcomes in chronic diseases, including cancer, and is designed to support ongoing investment into chronic respiratory conditions. It prioritises co-designed research with patients to address unmet needs across the care continuum, particularly in survivorship, quality of life, and care delivery.
This aligns with work on post-treatment pathways, symptom burden, care coordination, and equitable access. The scheme emphasises translation into practice and scalable models of care, rather than drug development or discovery science.
Projects well suited to this call include real-world data studies, survivorship research, and service redesign initiatives that demonstrate meaningful patient and system impact. Under Stream 2, approaches should target individuals from one or more priority populations.
