GO6697 NHMRC Partnership Projects 2024

The Partnership Project scheme aims to support the work of healthcare policy and service delivery implementation agencies by supporting the translation of research outcomes into policy and practice and the evaluation of current policy and practice to identify gaps in knowledge. Key objectives are meet the need for a more effective integration of research evidence into health policy and service delivery  and to create partnerships among policy makers, managers, service providers and researchers.

2025 NHMRC Centres of Research Excellence (CRE) scheme

IASLC Young Investigator Grants Program

Funding the training of early-career researchers who wish to pursue careers in lung cancer diagnosis, treatment, or laboratory research as well as other aspects of the study of lung tumors.

GO7221- MRFF – GHFM – 2024 Genomics Health Futures Grant Opportunity

The scope of the Genomics Health Futures Mission is to fund research to integrate genomics knowledge and technology into clinical practice, encompassing better health, and better testing, diagnosis and treatment. Various streams are available, some of which include research into common cancers.

GO6825 MRFF – 2024 International Clinical Trial Collaborations Grant Opportunity

Australian involvement in international collaborative investigator-initiated clinical trials research through the establishment and co-ordination of clinical trial site/s in Australia or to establish an Australian-designed clinical trial at overseas sites.

Gilead Sciences Solid Tumors

Gilead’s Research Scholars Program has been designed to support pre-clinical and clinical research in the field of Oncology Solid Tumors in Australia, Canada, and Europe. The 2025 program is focusing on Breast, Bladder, Upper GI and Lung cancer.

Application requirements

The grant is for early career researchers who focus their research on breast, bladder, upper gastrointestinal , or lung cancer.

Applicants must:

  • Hold an MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent degree at time of application submission
  • MD qualifications would have to have been obtained within the last 10 years and PhD qualifications would have to have been obtained within the last 5 years
  • Early career scientists with a strong track record of published research, who hold a position at a research institution for the duration of the award tenure
  • Have a strong career interest in Oncology Solid Tumors
  • Have a research mentor with extensive experience in their field of Oncology Solid Tumors (co-mentorship is accepted)
  • Be able to devote at least 30% of their professional time to research for the next two years (versus administrative, patient care, or teaching responsibilities)
  • Be able to complete the proposed research within the 2-year award period, providing evidence (manuscript, presentation, or abstracts) resulting from the research
  • Proposals utilising Gilead and Kite product(s) are not eligible for funding through the Research Scholars Program.

GO7080 MRFF 2024 National Critical Research Infrastructure Grant Opportunity

This initiative provides funding to establish and extend infrastructure (facilities, equipment, systems and services) of critical importance that will be used to conduct world-class health and medical research. Funding will be provided through the following Streams:

  • co-investment partnerships
  • mRNA technology enablers.

The Clinical Trials Activity Initiative (the Initiative) aims to:
  • improve the evidence base supporting clinical care
  • help patients access trials relevant to their health circumstances
  • enable researchers to bring international trials to Australian patients.
 
  • Stream 1: pilot trial in rare cancer, rare disease or unmet need
  • Stream 2: clinical trial trial or treatment or medical-based intervention in rare cancer, rare disease or unmet need
  • Stream 3: comparative effectiveness clinical trial
  • Stream 4: implementation

This grant opportunity offers funding to support medical research and medical innovation programs of research that deliver a ‘moonshot’ by creating a treatment for a currently serious and incurable health condition, through a series of linked projects. The program of research can propose to develop novel health technologies and/or re-purpose existing health technologies in a novel way.
