Zulfiquer Otty

Senior Medical Oncologist, Townsville University Hospital and ICON Cancer Centre; Senior Lecturer, James Cook University

Dr Zulfiquer Otty underwent undergraduate and postgraduate medical training in India. After relocating to Australia, Zulfiquer completed Basic physician training and Medical Oncology advanced training. While working as medical oncologist, he did PhD with James Cook University on lung Cancer referral pathway (submitted in June 2025).

Zulfiquer’s clinical interests are in managing thoracic malignancies and head & neck cancers. His is actively involved in health services research, with particular interest in rural and remote oncology. Zulfiquer is an associate investigator with ALST, member of rural and remote optimal care pathways working group and member of lung cancer policy network.
