Megan Sanders is a strategic leader with more than two decades of experience spanning cancer research, clinical trials, and organisational leadership. She is currently CEO of the Thoracic Oncology Group of Australasia (TOGA), where she drives the organisation’s vision and strategy, oversees operations, and builds sustainable partnerships through industry sponsorship, grants, and philanthropy.

Megan’s career reflects a consistent focus on creating and strengthening research infrastructure. At the Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA) she supported the establishment of 14 new clinical trial networks, and determined the commonalities and success factors of clinical trial groups across the entire medical sector. During her tenure as Program Manager at the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group (ALLG), she built the ALLG Trial Centre from the ground up, leading a team of 14, developing 17 new clinical trial protocols and transitioning more than 20 investigator-initiated clinical trials back in-house.

Her earlier career includes postdoctoral immunology research at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, examining antigen presentation to T cells and scientific roles at CSL Ltd, where she developed vaccine formulations and processes. Holding a PhD in Immunology from the University of Melbourne, Megan combines scientific insight with governance expertise. She is drawn to value-driven roles where leadership, collaboration, and strategic vision translate into tangible impact for patients and communities.
